Why Yoga Poses 4 Kids?
Adults and fitness professionals have discovered the many health and fitness benefits of yoga. There is a need to bring the knowledge of yoga to our children due to increased stresses in their lives; inactivity due to TV, computers, and video games; fast food; and the over-scheduling of our children's lives. This course is created for instructors or fitness professionals, as well as for parents looking to teach Kids Yoga poses at home to their children. I have taken the traditional Hatha Asanas or yoga poses, and made them kid-friendly and fun, while at the same time have included the yoga mind-body connection and the elements of fitness.
Children are anatomically, physiologically and psychologically immature and are still developing. Instructors should be relaxed about alignment and imperfect poses. Show simple adjustments and modifications to reduce the risk of children straining muscles or performing poses unsafely.
The goal of our printable online kids yoga courses are to teach kids yoga and to incorporate exercise, movement, release, fun, rest and relaxation.
Some modifications of poses, as well as cues for holding the pose will be including in the Kids Yoga poses chapter. Depending on the ages of the children in your classes, the Kid's Yoga class will run approximately 30-40 minutes. Enjoy moving and playing with our precious gift, the child!
